Benjamin Sisko

Benjamin’s life was prophetic from the start.  His human mother was possessed by a non-linear alien species, known as a prophet, who lived in the unknown Bajron wormhole.  The Prophet ensured the birth of Benjamin in 2332 in city of New Orleans on Earth to make his prophecy come true.  Benjamin later became known at the Emissary of the Prophets to the Bajoran people for discovering the Bajoran wormhole.

During his childhood years, Sisko and his siblings were taught by their father to cook their own food as his father owned a restaurant.  It was ironic, that his father believed that replicated food was wrong yet Sisko was expected to beam himself each night in 2359 from the Starfleet Academy to New Orleans for a family dinner.

In 2354, Benjamin met his first wife Jennifer after he had completed his studies as a Starfleet Engineer.  She was very devoted to Benjamin and followed him throughout his career.  During their extended stay on Deep Space 9, his only son Jake was born.  She later died during the Battle of Wolf when he served as Lieutenant Commander of the USS Saratoga in 2366.  It was this loss that made Sisko move to the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards to help design and engineer the Defiant Class Starship that would play a predominant role in his later life.

As a Starfleet officer, Benjamin Lafeyette Sisko was best remembered for his seven year command of Deep Space 9 in the Bajor sector were the Bajoran wormhole was located.  Even so, Sisko was a great strategist and excellent Captain of a series of Starships during a time when Starfleet was in many battles.  He fought the Borg as Captain of the USS Defiant and was a front line commander in the Dominion War ending his Starfleet career as the Captain of the USS Sao Paulo.  After a very long and eventful career with Starfleet, Benjamin finally in 2375 took up his rightful place with the Prophets of the Celestial Temple.

Kathryn Janeway

Kathryn Janeway was the daughter of a Starfleet Vic Admiral. She was born in Bloomington Indiana on Earth and grew up on her grandfather’s farm.  Her birthday was referenced from 2332 to 2344 as perhaps she did not want her real birth date known.  Her father raised her to be a doubter and a skeptic so that she would look at the world with a true eye of a scientist.  An ancestor of Janeway who was involved in the Millennium Gate project inspired her to join Starfleet.  Janeway studied chromolinguistics, American Sign Language and gestural idioms of the Leyron but she struggled with basic Kingonese.

At Starfleet Academy, Janeway was known as the coffee loving “Night Owl” as she trained to be a Science Officer.  As a Junior Science Officer she always envied that a captain had the privilege of making first contact with alien species.  Her first command was the USS Billings. She had a reputation of getting results in the field as an Commander that would make field trips.  By 2371, Janeway had command of the USS Voyager.

The USS Voyager would make up the majority of both Janeway’s life and career after finding Voyager transferred 70,000 light years across the galaxy from a sprocystian lifeform known as the Caretaker.  The Caretaker had pulled Voyager and the Val Jean who Voyager was chasing into the Delta Quadrant in order to see if any crew member might be a compatible mate.  The Caretaker’s condition deteriorated and he died before the ships could be returned to the Alpha Quadrant.  After some interaction with the hostile native species of the quadrant known as the Kazon, the crew of the two ships banded together on Voyager to make the seventy year scientific learning trip home.

Upon return to the Alpha Quadrant, Janeway was promoted to the rank of Vice Admiral.  One of her last assignments was to direct Captain Picard of the USS Enterprise-E on diplomatic missions to Romulus.  This was a fitting climax to a Starfleet Officer that once expressed a desire to serve alongside Captain Kirk and his crew of the Enterprise when space seemed “a whole lot bigger.”

Chakotay

Chakotay was born “upside down” in 2329 on a Federation Colony near the Cardassian Demilitarized Zone.  He was raised by his Native American father who considered him a “contrary” in his culture due to his birth position.  Chakotay’s family roots were on Earth.   He was a descendant of the Rubber Tree People who had Mayan roots.  Even though his father tried to teach Chakotay the native way of life, he resisted.  Chakotay’s father Kolopak was afraid that without Spirits to guide Chakatay he would lose his way in life.
Chakotay left his tribe to attend Starfleet Academy at age fifteen and possessed great piloting skills.  He graduated in 2348 and became part of Starfleet’s Advanced Tactical Training group.  In 2368 he resigned after his father’s death to honour his father’s memory.  This led Chakotay on a spiritual journey which involved vision quests to meet with his father’s spirit.  He later joined the Maquis and became one of its leaders to resist both the Cardassians and the Federation in a fight for principle.  It was during this fight that he was on his ship, the Val Jean, which was transported to the Delta Quadrant by the Caretaker.
Unknown to Chakotay was that one of his crew, Tuvok, was the Security Chief of the USS Voyager.  Voyager ended up following him to the Delta Quadrant in an attempt to locate the Val Jean.  When the crews of both ships came together in cooperation to fight both the Caretaker abduction and the ruthless Kazon people of the Delta Quadrant, Chakotay embraced Starfleet principles once again and became the First Officer of Voyager.  He was loyal to Captain Janeway and Starfleet and kept the peace establishing positive cooperation between his Maquis crew and the Starfleet crew in order to find a way home.
During an early attack by the Kamar in the Delta Quadrant, Chakotay was rendered brain dead as his neural energy was extracted into a disembodied Spirit.  As a Spirit, he eventually proved himself to the Voyager crew and used a medicine wheel to create a map out of the nebula.  His Spirit was eventually reunited with his body and his devotion to Voyager and Startfleet became very strong.  Chakotay, the only Starfleet Officer with one name, is believed to eventually became Captain of the Voyager upon its return.  The end of his life was a mixture of alternative timelines and alternative Chakotays as possibly his father’s fear of losing his way in life without spirits became true.  No one knows for sure.

Kira Nerys

Born in Dahjur Province on Bajor possibly in 2343, Kira lived a large part of her life in a refugee camp.  She was often in trouble as she had an interest in annoying adults.  A Cardassian occupation of Bajor affected Kira’s life making her become a rebel and member of the Bajorian Resistance by the age of 12.  After knowing nothing but violence, Kira eventually became a Colonel in the Bajoran Militia.

Nerys came to Deep Space 9 in 2369 as the Bajoran Liaison Officer.  She was very loyal to Bajor and just accepted the presence of the Federation as the federation secured her home world’s safety.  Even so, she did become the Second in Command on the space station as her life skills as a resistance fighter prevented many terrorist acts on the station as she understood how terrorist made plans.

Kira was very loyal to her friends.  She took upon the roll of surrogate mother for the O’Briens when Kieko O’Brien’s womb was injured in a runabout accident.  Giving birth made her want to find out more about her mother who she had been told “died” when she was young.  Kira used the Orb of Time to time travel to find out more about her history.  Time travel became a part of her life as alternative timelines played a role in her life when the USS Defiant travelled back in time.  It was during this time that Odo the Security Officer changeling showed his love for her by preventing her death.  Kira’s love relationship would remain as complex as her travels in time.
When the Dominion took over Deep Space 9, Kira Nerys remained to represent the Bajoran Government under the new Dominion Administration.  Nerys was a tactical thinker and planner who had a knack for problem solving with her early life experiences as a resistance fighter trained in ambush type guerilla warfare tactics. She played a part keeping the station intact and overcoming the Dominion.  Nerys was promoted to Starfleet Commander to help her overcome Cardassian distrust in the Cardassium Rebellion against the Dominion.  She had to put her deep feelings aside to help her childhood tormentors complete the war against the Dominion to restore peace.  As a result of all her lifelong efforts, Kira Nerys became the full time Commander of Deep Space 9.

Natasha Yar

Lieutenant Natasha Yar, was called Tasha by the crew of the Enterprise.  She was a Human Starfleet Officer and Security Chief on the USS Enterprise-D.  Unfortunately, she was killed not even a year into the Enterprise’s mission.  She was remembered by the Enterprise crew and held deeply close to their hearts.

Tasha’s short life was filled with tragedies.   She was an orphan as her parents died when she was very young.  She lived on a devastating planet.  It was no surprise that she decided one day to leave her home forever and enter the Starfleet Academy.

During training as a cadet, she went on a rescue mission and rescued a colonist.  This was noticed by Captain Picard and he was so impressed with her bravery that he decided to recruit her for duty on the Enterprise while she was still a cadet.  Tasha had the honour of piloting Captain Picard to the Enterprise in a shuttle craft for his first time stepping foot on the ship.  She was an excellent Security Chief and impressed many cultures by being a female Security Chief.  Tasha was kidnapped one time because of her beauty and martial art skills.  She eventually returned to the Enterprise and was reunited with her crew.

Tasha was killed in 2364 on the planet Vagra Two.  She was part of a faraway mission to rescue Deanna Troi and Ben Prieto who had crashed into a shuttle.  The crash survivor could not be rescued because of a life form on the planet known as the Armus.  When Tasha tried to walk around the Armus she was attacked and killed without any warning or cause because the Armus simply wanted to show his power.  Tragic as her life was, she will always be remembered in the hearts of the Enterprise crew.

Beverly Crusher

Commander Beverly Crusher was the Chief Medical Officer aboard the USS Enterprise under the command of Captain Jean-Luc Picard.  Crusher was born in Copernicus City on Earth’s moon on October 13, 2324.  She attended Starfleet Academy from 2342 to 2350.  She had a husband stationed on the USS Stargazer but he died when he was on a faraway mission.  Crusher mourned his death but never let this life event affect the performance of her duties.

Crusher left the Enterprise for a few years to become the Head of Starfleet Medical in 2365.  She enjoyed the adventure of Enterprise voyages so she returned to the ship a year later and remained in the field for the remainder of her career.

Doctor Crusher had to deal with many various epidemics aboard the Enterprise.  She had to come up with cures very fast as the epidemics spread very rapidly and as a person she could catch them too.  An example of one disease the Enterprise faced occurred when students returned from a field trip to a nearby planet.  When they came back, a terrible and deadly respiratory virus almost killed the whole crew. Crusher successfully found a cure before it was too late.

Crusher was a fully-certified Bridge Officer. She commanded the Enterprise on many occasions.  One time was in 2370 she commanded the Enterprise after a Borg attack when nearly the entire crew was on a Borg planet searching for Data. Her quick thinking during this command allowed the Enterprise to escape and destroy the Borg ship. Crusher helped keep the Enterprise safe from the Borg many times during her career.  Doctor Crusher was well known as a doctor that resisted the Borg by helping try  to cure those they rescued from the Borg.

Christine Chapel

Christine Chapel abandoned a career in bio-research for a position with Starfleet.  She succeeded in her goal by 2266 and was commissioned as an Ensign and assigned to the USS Enterprise, serving as Head Nurse under Enterprise Chief Medical Officer Dr. Leonard McCoy.  She was very helpful in assisting anyone on the Enterprise who was sick or needed attention when Dr. McCoy was not there.

By 2267, there were occasional times where Chapel was called upon to help other doctors.  Sometimes Dr. McCoy was her patient.  She was always supportive of Dr. McCoy when other people questioned his thinking and reliability to do his job.  Chapel helped when Dr. McCoy needed assistance or was out of ideas to save his crew when previously unseen medical conditions occurred.  One time, she even helped find a method to stop the rapid aging from radiation a comet was giving off that the Enterprise crew was studying.

There was a time in 2268 when Dr.McCoy greatly confused Chapel as well as put her in danger.  Dr.McCoy brought Spock back from a faraway mission and thought he was dying but Nurse Chapel figured out that she could cure Spock.  She did not know that Spock was doing this on purpose with a special Vulcan trans technique.  Spock was making a dangerous alien race, the Kelvans, think he became seriously ill being near them so they would leave the Enterprise crew.  It was by luck that Nurse Chapel figured out what was happening and allowed Spock to continue his plan successfully.

Chapel gained the rank of Commander in her latter career and eventually worked at Starfleet Headquarters.  She helped when relief efforts for alien species were requested of Starfleet.

Nyota Uhura

Uhura was born in the year 2230 and served on the USS Enterprise as a Communications Officer under the command of James T. Kirk for nearly thirty years.  Lieutenant Uhura was part of a five year mission and proved herself to be a proficient technician skilled at Intergalactic Communication.  She was also considered by Captain Kirk to be a capable and reliable Bridge Officer.  Lieutenant Uhura was skilled in manning the helm, navigation and the main science station when the need arose.

Lieutenant Uhura had one major fear even though she showed no fear in many negotiations that were very fearful.  Her fear was that one day she would be a disfigured, diseased, dying old woman.  On star date 5029.5, the Starnes Exploration Party children under the influence of a man used their telekinetic powers to terrorize the whole bridge crew by creating fear.  Uhura could not perform her duties as Communications Officer when she felt she was a disfigured old woman.  The telepathic influence was stopped when the children were not influenced any more by this man.

In the 2270s, Uhura was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander aboard the Enterprise.  She served under Willard Decker until the V’Ger Crisis when Admiral Kirk took over command of the Enterprise again.  In 2285, Uhura was promoted to Commander and assigned to Starfleet Command Communications at the Starfleet Academy while the Enterprise was reassigned to cadet training.  She even lectured at the Academy.

Uhura went to the Camp Khitomer Crisis in 2293 to help with the peace talks between the Federation and the Klingon Empire, serving as the Communications Officer.  By the end of the year, she left and finished her career by teaching at Starfeet Academy.

Data

Lieutenant Commander Data was a Soong-type Android, the first and only such being to ever enter Starfleet.  Data was created around 2330 and was destroyed in 2379 because he sacrificed himself so that the crew of the USS Enterprise could survive.  One of Data’s most famous quotes was “I chose to believe that I was a person, that I had the potential to become more than a collection of circuits and sub-processors.”

Data was a machine but he aspired to be more human.  He had some failing results.  Data tried to use humour and romance which sometimes worked.  Romance never seemed to work out for Data.  He mostly had problems using contractions in speech.  Data was the fifth of six complex Androids known to have been built.

Data was a Starfleet Officer for many years before he became the Operations and Second Officer of the Enterprise.  Data often took the night shift as he did not need sleep and could work 24-7 without rest.  Data was recognized as a machine and some people did not think he should have rights as a human.  Some people only felt he was  property to the Federation almost like a slave.  But all those who had such thoughts were proven wrong when they wanted to take Data apart for scientific reasons as it was determined that he was his own life form and a race within himself.

Data died in 2370 to save the Enterprise from a deadly weapon that would have destroyed the whole Enterprise.  Before he died, he transferred all of his memories to a test model Android which was not as advanced as him and could not communicate as well as he could because he could not create full sentences.  It was suggested Data was reincarnated in the test model Android’s body by using Data’s memories but the test model Android was not Data as Data was unique.

Geordi La Forge

La Forge was born on February 16th, 2335 in Mogadishu, Somalia in an African Confederation, on Earth.  Both of Geordi’s parents were Starfleet Officers.  His parents were Captain Silva La Forge and the noted exozoologist Commander Edward M. La Forge.  La Forge was born with a birth defect which left him blind.  When he was five years old Geordi received a special visor which allowed him to see.  He could not see as humans see, but he could see better than them.

During his early career La Forge attended Starfleet Academy from 2353 to 2357.  His first deep space assignment was as an Ensign aboard the USS Victory.  La Forge later transferred to the USS Hood.  This is where he met Commander William T. Riker, the First Officer of the Enterprise.  La Forge was transferred to the Enterprise when he was a pilot.  He showed his skill and expertise when he fixed the engine efficiency of the Starship when Captain Picard complained it was not right.

In 2365, La Forge was promoted to a full Lieutenant and transferred from the Command Division to the Operations Division and was named Chief Engineer.  His abilities and cooperative leadership made him an outstanding and very well recognized Senior Officer.

During his latter career, La Forge was able to see without his visor.  He received ocular implants which could do the same thing as the visor without a visor sticking out of his head.  His greatest dream was to see with his own eyes.  He was temporarily able to see once as a human when he was on a far away mission when the planet had metaphysic radiation which helped re-grow his actual eyes temporarily.  La Forge never regretted not having any vision and used his technical improvements to his defective vision to help him do more than people with normal vision abilities.

Worf

Worf was born in 2340 on the Klingon home world.  He was the son of Mogh, who was related to one of the great houses in the Klingon Empire.  At a young age, Worf was on a ritual hunt and received a scar from a beast which mauled him.  Worf kept this memory with him for the rest of his life.  Worf’s parents were killed during a battle at Khitomer.  Almost all the citizens and people Worf knew died during that battle.  After the battle, Worf was raised by a Chief Petty Officer of the Starship USS Intrepid which lead to him to join the Starfleet Academy.

In 2364, Worf was assigned as a Command Division Bridge Officer on the USS Enterprise, under the command of Captain Jean-Luc Picard.  Worf spent most of his first year on the Enterprise as a Relief Officer for the Conn and other bridge stations.  As a Starfleet Officer, Worf  had special permission to wear his Klingon warrior’s sash over his uniform.

Following the death of the Enterprise's Chief Tactical and Security Officer, Warf was promoted to this role and also received the full rank of Lieutenant.  He was a very important officer to the Enterprise.  On his first mission, he had to take command of the saucer module while the other half of the crew went on to complete the mission.  He was a true Starfleet Officer that would sacrifice himself to keep the Enterprise safe.

During Worf’s latter career, he worked at Deep Space 9 and took the USS Defiant on many missions.  Worf helped Starfleet win many battles during the war against the Dominion.  Worf eventually went back to the Enterprise and served with his old crew mates.  On one of his final missions on the Enterprise, Worf and his crew were fighting the traditional Klingon enemy, the Romulans, who were not part of the Empire and he over came his life long grudge against them because he said “they fought with honour”.

Deanna Troi

Deanna Troi was a half-Betazoid, half-Human Starfleet Officer.  She served on the USS Enterprise D and E and during her latter career Troi transferred to the USS Titan.  As a half-Betazoid, Troi was capable of extra-sensory empathy but could not read the minds of aliens with brain structures different from Humans and other Betazoids.  She was very helpful on the Enterprise with mental health issues of the crew.  She often was very valuable when negotiating with other hostile races.  She could tell if others were lying to her and helped the Enterprise Senior Officers in many stressful and suspenseful situations.

Troi was born on March 29, 2336, near Lake El’nar on the planet Batazed to Ambassador Lwaxana Troi and Starfleet Officer Ian Andrew Troi.  Troi had a sister named Kestra who died when Troi was a very young child.

Troi entered into Starfleet Academy in 2355 and graduated in 2359, majoring in psychology.  She had the rank of Lieutenant Commander and was the Councillor for the Enterprise for many years.  Troi could sense emotion and fear in other ships whether they were enemies or allies.  Also, when the crew of the Enterprise was away on missions, she could sense if they were doing well and report to the captain if the communicators were not functioning.  Her senses were much more advanced than the technology of Starfleet communicators even if the communication was non verbal.

Deanna Troi married William T. Riker during the latter part of her Starfleet career.  Troi and Riker knew each other for many years.  They first met on her home planet when Riker was stationed there as a Lieutenant.  Lieutenant Riker wanted to pursue his career so Troi followed him to the Enterprise when Riker became a Commander.

William T. Riker

William T. Riker was born in 2335 in Alaska, on Earth.  Riker was very well known for his long assignment as First Officer serving under Captain Jean-Luc Picard on the USS Enterprise.  In 2379, he became a Commanding Officer as Captain of the USS Titan.
Captain Riker went on many missions. On one occasion, he was in a transporter accident which resulted in two Rikers with identical personalities and memories.  One Riker eventually decided to use his middle name and became know as Thomas Riker.
When Captain Riker was promoted to Commander of the new Enterprise, he was forced with a task as soon as he was on board. The Enterprise was threatened by an entity called the Q.  The Q continuum was impressed by Riker and decided to give him powers but Riker gave them up because they were not real.

Riker was temporarily promoted to Captain when Captain Picard was taken by the Borg.  Riker destroyed the Borg cube and helped save Captain Picard in the process.  In 2379, he married the ship’s Councillor Deanna Troi.  He then assumed the command of the USS Titan.

Jean-Luc Picard

Jean-Luc Picard was a Starfleet Officer, Archeologist and Diplomat who served during the later half of the twenty-fourth century.  He was born in La Barre, France on July 13, 2305.  He commanded three vessels in his career: USS Stargazer, USS Enterprise-D and the USS Enterprise-E.  Picard was a Captain for many years.

Shortly upon graduation in 2327, Picard’s promising career almost ended when he was stabbed through his heart. He had to undergo immediate surgery to replace his heart so that he would not die.  This life and death experience taught him how to take risks and learn to understand how fragile life can be each day.  Captain Picard had many life and death scenarios he had to face throughout his whole Starfleet career.
In 2355, the Stargazer was seriously damaged and it was later discovered that it was a Ferengi ship that was disabling it. Captain Picard used the Stargazer’s warp engines to disable the Ferengi attack.  This strategy was later named the Picard Manoeuver. As a result of this attack, Captain Picard and his crew were forced to abandon their ship.

In 2364, Captain Picard was assigned command of the newly-commissioned Galaxy-Class Starship USS Enterprise-D, which was the most prestigious command in Starfleet.  Captain Picard was in command of the USS Enterprise for seven years.  This was one of Starfleet’s finest flag ships.  Captain Picard was one of the finest and most recognized leaders on Starfleet.

Pavel Chekov

Chekov was a Human who served as a Starfleet Officer during the later part of the twenty-third century.  He was born in Russia on Earth in the year 2245. Chekov was very well known for his dedication to his job as a Navigator for the USS Enterprise.  Chekov was part of a five year mission under the command of Captain Kirk.  He was a Junior Officer and was always doing odd jobs all over the ship.

During his short leave on a Deep Space station Chekov brought a tribble onto the Enterprise which reproduced so fast the ship became overrun by them in just three days.  He also got into a bar fight at the Deep Space Station and was arrested by security from the Enterprise.  He was interrogated by Captain Kirk and Scotty admitted that he himself was the one who started the fight so as a result, Chekov did not get in as much trouble.  During that same mission Scotty found a humane way to get rid of the tribbles by beaming them over to a Klingon ship.

During Chekov’s later career, he was posted as Second Officer, Navigator and Security Chief of the Enterprise-A.  In 2293, he took the Enterprise on its last cruise with her old bridge crew.  On one of his last voyages in 2293, Commander Chekov was a guest of honour aboard the new USS Enterprise-B during its maiden voyage when Captain Kirk went missing presumably swept into space.

Hikaru Sulu

Sulu was a Human Starfleet Officer born in the year 2237 in the city of San Francisco, Earth. Sulu was well known for his role as Chief Helmsman of the Starship USS Enterprise. On a few occasions, as a Senior Officer, he was allowed to be the temporary Captain of the Enterprise when Captain Kirk and First Officer Spock were away on missions. Later on in his career, Sulu was promoted to the Commanding Officer of the USS Excelsior, and was widely known as a tactical genius.

Sulu faced many challenging obstacles during his career on Starfleet. One obstacle occurred when he helped Admiral Kirk and his senior staff steal the Enterprise from Earth’s space dock to save their friend Spock who was on a distant planet. This was an example of how Sulu would break many rules to save those he worked with and respected on Starfleet. He was a loyal officer not only to Starfleet but to his friends. Working together with his fellow long time crew members to save Spock was one of the most important events that happened in his life that changed him into a better person. This life experience made Sulu become an outstanding Commanding Officer in his field.

In 2290, Sulu was promoted to the rank of Captain and offered the command of the USS Excelsior. Captain Sulu was still very loyal to his old crew and even stopped his three year mission to help Kirk and Dr. McCoy when they were accused of a crime by the Klingons. Sulu put his crew in danger to save the men he had served with during half of his life. Captain Janeway of the Starship Voyager said many years later that "Captain Sulu, Captain Kirk, Doctor McCoy.... belonged to a different breed of Starfleet officers."

James Tiberius Kirk

James Tiberius Kirk was a human who lived in the United States of America in the twenty third century. He was born on March 22, 2233 (Stardate 1277.1) in Iowa on Earth. James Kirk was one of the most famous Star Trek leading characters of all time. Throughout Starfleet history, he was very highly recognized as a Starfleet Officer.

Captain Kirk was part of a five year science mission "to go where no man has gone before". When he was thirty two years of age, he assumed command of the Constitution-Class Starship USS Enterprise (NCC-1701). Kirk made the first major step in exploring the universe with his mission statement "to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life....".

In Kirk’s later career, he was promoted to Admiral making him the youngest Admiral in Starfleet. Kirk never followed the rules and lost his rank as Admiral. Kirk became a Starship Captain again and saved Earth when an entity threatened the existence of the planet.

Later in life, he was given a new USS Enterprise to command and explore new worlds, which is what he did best. Kirk always got the job done no matter how hard or impossible it was for him to succeed.

Spock

Spock, with the unusual pointed ears, is very well known on Star Trek as Captain Kirk’s Science Officer. Spock was a half human/Vulcan hybrid who became a very respected figure in the United Federation of Planets. He was born 2230 in the city of Shi’Kahr on the planet Vulcan.
Spock lived his life based on logic, as every Vulcan does. He always meditated and predicted precents of an outcome, helping make the best rational choice in a challenging situation. Spock
always helped his crew to see that his view was justified and logical.
Vulcans have a very long lifespan and can outlive humans for decades. In the early 2285, Spock acted as a hero and fixed the plasma conduits from inside the reactor of the Enterprise. In Spock’s mind, the need of the many outweighs the need of the individual. Spock always put the crew first. Perhaps this was his human side showing through his logical Vulcan traits.

Spock died from the reactor radiation but was saved by an experiment gone wrong called Genesis. We do not know much about Spock’s life after this because he disappeared.

Montgomery Scott

Montgomery Scott was referred to as "Scotty" by his shipmates. Scotty was the colourful Chief Engineer of the USS Enterprise and the USS Enterprise-A. Scotty always impressed others with his engineering and technical skills. Scotty was born in 2222 in Great Britain on Earth. He began his Starfleet career in 2241.

When Scotty was the Chief Engineer under Captain Kirk on the Enterprise, he also served as a Second Officer. The USS Enterprise was the first ship where he was the Chief Engineer. He helped save the lives of the crew many times through his engineering skill.

In 2270 Scotty helped to refit the Enterprise. Later on in 2285, Scotty was promoted and reassigned to the Captain of Engineering of the USS Excelsior. Scotty was recognized for his work and was very well known in Starfleet. But Scotty also liked his Scotch whisky and got in trouble many times when on his short leaves from the ship.

Leonard McCoy

Leonard McCoy was a physician and scientist during the twenty-third and twenty-fourth centuries. He was born on star date 2227 in the "Old South" region of North America. Dr. McCoy was well known and respected because of his work as the Chief Medical Officer on the USS Enterprise. McCoy was very well known for his famous line, "I’m a doctor."

Dr. McCoy frequently displayed a very love/hate attitude towards technology during his time. Although he was a great believer in the body’s own natural ability to heal and felt that a little suffering was good for the soul, he broke the prime directive and helped an old lady stay alive when he went back in time to try to help his crew save the earth of the future. McCoy was a true doctor that wanted to save lives.

While technically only Lieutenant Commander in rank on the Enterprise, Dr. McCoy was the only person who could talk back to the Captain and get away with it. Although not without an apology when he was wrong, he displayed a unique individuality. He was always ready to be just an "old fashioned country doctor" with an opinion.
